Review Guidelines

Cura is an information and medical travel coordination platform for international patients. It helps patients communicate with independent clinics, hospitals and partners in destinations including Turkey and Iran.

Cura is not a clinic, hospital or medical provider. It does not provide treatment, replace the relationship between a patient and their treating clinician or control clinical decisions and outcomes.

Purpose of reviews

Patient reviews can help international patients understand how others experienced a clinic, doctor or coordination service. Feedback can also help Cura and participating providers identify strengths and areas that may need attention.

Reviews represent personal experiences and opinions. They are not medical advice and do not guarantee safety, suitability or results. Decisions about treatment should be made with qualified clinicians who understand the individual patient’s circumstances.

Who can leave a review

Cura aims to accept reviews from people with direct experience of a clinic, doctor or coordination service through the platform.

  • Patients who used Cura to contact or arrange services with a clinic or doctor.
  • In some cases, close companions or caregivers who directly supported the patient.

Reviews should describe first-hand experience rather than hearsay or second-hand accounts. Cura may check whether a review is connected to a genuine inquiry, booking or coordination process.

What reviews may include

Useful reviews focus on factual, relevant details about planning, communication and the service experience. Reviewers may comment on:

  • Communication before and after travel, including response times and clarity.
  • Interactions with clinic staff, coordination teams and support services.
  • Personal impressions of cleanliness, organisation and comfort.
  • What went well during planning, arrival, the treatment visit and follow-up.
  • What could have been explained, organised or communicated more clearly.

To protect privacy and safety, reviewers should not include:

  • Sensitive personal information about other patients or staff.
  • Private contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses or home addresses.
  • Complete medical records, detailed test results or documents containing identifying information.

Reviewers may share general information about their own situation when they feel comfortable doing so, but should avoid details that could identify another person.

Prohibited content

Reviews must remain respectful and relevant. The following content is not permitted:

  • Hate speech or degrading comments based on race, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
  • Threats, harassment or encouragement of violence.
  • Obscene, abusive or severely offensive language.
  • Advertising or promotion for unrelated clinics, platforms, products or services.
  • Spam, duplicate submissions or repeatedly posted content.
  • Reviews that appear fabricated, manipulated or submitted in bad faith.
  • Content that appears to violate applicable law.

Cura may edit, restrict or remove content that conflicts with these rules, particularly where it may affect the privacy or safety of patients, staff or the public.

Moderation and verification

Cura may use automated checks and human review when moderating patient feedback.

  • Automated checks may help identify spam, duplicate content and certain prohibited terms.
  • Flagged reviews, sensitive topics and complex cases may be reviewed manually.
  • Where possible, Cura may check whether feedback relates to a genuine inquiry, booking or service experience.

Cura may contact the reviewer for clarification or supporting context. It may also contact the relevant clinic or partner to understand the circumstances surrounding a review.

Submitting a review does not guarantee publication. Reviews may be declined when they do not meet these guidelines, are too unclear to assess or cannot reasonably be connected to direct experience.

Editing and removal of reviews

Cura may edit or remove a review when this is necessary to protect privacy, maintain respectful discussion or apply these guidelines.

Reasons for editing a review

  • Removing phone numbers, email addresses, private names or other identifying details.
  • Removing prohibited insults, discriminatory language or threatening content.
  • Correcting obvious formatting or technical problems without changing the reviewer’s main message.

Where reasonably possible, Cura will preserve the substance of the review while removing private, unsafe or prohibited elements.

Reasons for removing a review

  • Strong indications that the review is fabricated or was written without direct experience.
  • Serious threats, unlawful content or statements that create substantial legal or safety concerns.
  • Repeated posting of the same content through multiple accounts or profiles.
  • Disclosure of highly sensitive medical or personal information that creates a significant privacy risk.
  • Content that clearly conflicts with applicable legal requirements.

Removal decisions consider the purpose of these guidelines, patient safety, fairness, privacy and relevant legal obligations.

Replies from clinics and partners

Clinics and partners may be permitted to respond publicly to reviews. A respectful reply can give readers additional context about the experience described.

  • Replies should remain factual, professional and respectful.
  • Clinics and partners must not disclose private health or personal information about the reviewer.
  • They must not pressure a patient to change or remove honest feedback.

A clinic cannot remove a review simply because it disagrees with it. It may report the review when it believes the content conflicts with these guidelines.

How to report a review

Patients, companions, clinics and partners may report a review that appears inappropriate, inaccurate or inconsistent with these guidelines.

  • Use the report or flag option where it is available near the review.
  • Alternatively, contact Cura and provide the review link with a short explanation of the concern.

After receiving a report, Cura may:

  • Assess the review against these guidelines.
  • Consider relevant information provided by the reporter, reviewer, clinic or partner.
  • Decide whether the review should remain unchanged, be edited, be restricted or be removed.

Cura may not be able to share every detail of a moderation decision, but it aims to apply these guidelines consistently and fairly.

How Cura may use review information

Cura may use review information to improve coordination processes, support internal quality reviews and inform how clinic information is presented.

  • Patterns in feedback may help identify recurring strengths or concerns.
  • Serious issues may lead to additional checks or discussions with the relevant clinic or partner.
  • Aggregated and anonymised feedback may be used for internal analysis or educational materials.

A review is only one source of information. Cura may also consider factors such as response times, profile completeness, communication quality and cooperation with patient support processes.

Limits of reviews

Reviews are subjective accounts of individual experiences and should be read with appropriate caution.

  • Patients may have different expectations, health circumstances and comfort levels.
  • One review cannot represent every aspect of a clinic, doctor or treatment.
  • Medical risks and outcomes depend on many personal and clinical factors.
  • Older reviews may not reflect later changes in staff, facilities, procedures or local requirements.

Reviews should therefore be one part of a broader decision-making process. They do not replace consultation with qualified clinicians or independent professional guidance.

Using reviews when considering treatment

When reading reviews on Cura, consider the following steps:

  • Look for patterns across several reviews rather than relying on one highly positive or negative account.
  • Compare feedback with clinic profiles, doctor information and relevant treatment guides.
  • Ask detailed questions during consultations before making travel arrangements.
  • Provide your medical history and relevant documents directly to the treating clinician.
  • Confirm important details with the clinic, including available services, follow-up arrangements and recovery support.
  • Seek independent advice from a qualified clinician in your home country when you have concerns.

Questions about legal requirements, visas, insurance or financial arrangements may require guidance from official authorities or appropriately qualified advisors.

Questions about these guidelines

For questions about reviews or the way these guidelines are applied, you may contact Cura. The team can explain the general moderation process and receive feedback about how reviews are managed.

Cura may update these guidelines when platform processes, legal requirements or patient safety considerations change. Updates are intended to protect privacy, encourage honest feedback and keep review information useful for international patients planning medical travel.
